Texting issues on green Lumia 1520

Hello,

This is becoming frustrating. On a particular group chat, when a particular member sends a message, his name will appear in the thread but the message will be blank. The other member in our group chat can send his messages and they show up normally in the group thread.

When I respond to ANY group messages, my message shows up twice on the thread. I get two notifications.

Any idea how to fix this bug??

Its more of a software glitch. You could try soft resetting the phone or a hard reset would be your only option.

A soft reset was done many times. A hard reset meaning a factory restore??

Is it only limited to the 1520 running Windows Phone 8.1? I do not recall any other Lumia models being affected.

He has, I believe, a Samsung. Group texting with him worked with my Lumia 1020 but not on my 1520.3 .

It appears to be a windows phone 8.1 bug from other Internet posts I have seen. Does anyone agree or is there a solution?

It could be a bug, but there is always a solution. Try playing with your messaging settings.

Believe me when I say I did. From changing "backup settings" to "group text" options...nothing has worked.

Oh and the big thing here is I would reboot the Lumia 1520 after each option change.

It's not just green. My yellow one used to do it too. Just one friend on an HTC DNA. I get his messages now. I just don't remember what I did. Lol.

Oh god this happens with me and my 920 when I text my friend with his iPhone. We think it's a carrier issue and not the phones themselves.

Have you contacted your carrier yet? They might reset your service to make it work (worked for me anyway)
