Gaming is in a sad state when a game being good isn't good enough anymore. Even smaller ones that shouldn't have cost that much to make. I don't know if it's cloud gaming or mobile or for consoles to get off their butt and fulfill their original promise but something needs to be done to make the gaming market overall less volatile. Like it really needs to expand and do a better job of reaching general audiences and be less of a niche hobby. Only mobile gaming and games like COD, fortnite, minecraft, and Pokémon have REALLY broken into the zeitgeist.
