The "How's your Band holding up" thread

Did Microsoft replace your band when this happened?
I am having an awful time with their customer support, i logged the fault that the rubber was coming away from the batteries and clasps back on the 2nd December and they asked for pictures which i sent, i kept getting a returned error email saying there was a problem with the email...
within a week the clasp had completley broken off whilst i was in bed asleep, i woke up to find my band in the bed.
I had only had it for 5 months at this point.
I tried to contact them again and again got ignored so i raised another repair form and sent pictures.
They collected it last week and today i have received it back saying they wont repair because i must have done this myself!! i have to pay a further 92 pounds for a repair!!
They confirmed that they did in fact receive the photos from December and someone should have contacted me and if they had contacted me before it was totally broken it would have been repaired.
I am furious but it seems they wont do anything even though they messed up and it should have been fixed!

I dont know what to do from here, i would have thought they should last for more than 5 months. i didnt do anything to it other than wear in on my wrist!

This is what my band looks like after about 2 months of daily use, I run 3 or 4 times per week and I do sweat a lot, always wipe the sweat out after every run, before charging it. I did speak with microsoft through live chat and they say they will replace it, just need to ship it to them. Unfortunately it can't be done on their stores anymore cause the band 1 isn't available through the stores.
My concern is that this is not a problem with my particular unit, so I'm guessing it will happen again with the other they send to me.

My Band 2 is holding up much better than my Band 1 did. Aside from a few scuff marks on the rubberized part of the band, it looks brand new.

Had my second exchange (3rd band) on Monday and haven't worn it till I get this Robot Check from amazon, at least to see if it helps the inevitable disintegration of the rubber parts. Wont help with the poor clasp though, which was what broke this second time. Personally don't think I will be buying another one, once they refuse to replace it I will be done with the band, workmanship is truly shoddy.

I have the same experience. The band 1 had to be a proof of concept device, the band 2 is much more thought out and rugged.

I had exactly the same issue as Skippy07 with the break-away clasp, sent it to Microsoft in Germany as I bought it online in the UK and that's their policy. They sent it back saying it was my fault/ heavy wear..... and no amount of griping at MS in the UK would change their minds. Now I have a useless piece of junk in a box and ?xxx out of pocket
