The next Surface 4 (2016) - early rumors and thoughts!

I really hope there's a Surface 4' released. I've been looking at getting a surface 3 recently, but it appears that new ones are discontinued, no one sells them anymore. So I've been scouring ebay for one, missed out on a good deal, and cant get anything reasonable.

Main thing is I hope they keep the size and screen resolution going. I don't like the weird resolution on the SP4, whereas 1920x1280 gives a lot of advantages.

From what I've been reading, also would seem like a good idea for them to ditch the micro usb, and go to usb type c and make it functional, not just for charging, keep the full size port as well.

So again, I really hope something is in the pipeline, the device seems pretty good, a lot of people have praised it, would be a shame for MS to just give up on it now.

The Surface 3 is still listed on microsoftstore.com. Unfortunately, if you wanted the 4/128GB LTE model it isn't listed anymore.

If you get a Surface 3 plan on getting a good quality 2.4A USB charger to replace the lousy one that MS supplies.

I picked up a second hand one. I'm quite impressed having used it for around 2 weeks now.

The only real failure is the micro-USB port for charging. It's clearly not as advertised, seeing that regular phone chargers won't work. I've invested in a power brick so I should be able to keep it continuously charged up, it's rated at 2.1A output, so should manage to keep up. Not end of the world, but something which I think they could have rather easily rectified and when I think about it, I'm really baffled as to why they didn't go to the type c plug...

I REALLY wish Microsoft would keep making non-Pro models of the Surface. The Pro line is just too big for my tastes. However, I want to see a Surface 4 with an AMD Zen APU in it. I really want Microsoft to get out of bed with Intel! I refuse to buy Intel-based products, and it's the main reason I'm still sitting on a Surface 2 with a Tegra 4.

I really wish they would make a Surface 4, but I don't think they will. They are focusing on the pro market.

I've had my S3 for over a year now, and if they ever DID launch a Surface 4, I'd be ALL over that. I love the size of the S3 for portability, and the fanless design, so if they can rev it up a little, I think it would be a worthwhile upgrade.
