The Verge Bias

Hello,

Is it just me, our is the tech news site The Verge ALWAYS critical of Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 10 Mobile and other Microsoft products? It seems every time I see an article on their site about our beloved platform, that Tom Warren guy is always unnecessarily negative? Or is it just me? I used to be an Android ******, but I never saw any of the Android sites unnecessarily negative.

I was just making sure I wasn't getting vibes that weren't there. Because every time there's a Microsoft article by Tom Warren, it's always negative. But yeah, I'm just seeing if I'm not the only to notice it aha.

When web sites derive their revenue from advertising, it pays (literally) to write stories that people are going to read and share further.

Click-bait and dramatic headlines and claims are an easy win and it really doesn't matter if people agree with the journalist or not - the story gets spread and everyone who reads the story gives revenue to the web site. Sadly, Windows Central can sometimes also fall into the category on slow news days.

It takes a lot more effort to gain readership through integrity.

As always, readers should make their own mind up based on considered reading and not believe things that the internet tells them to.

I,agree. If I let the internet make up my mind, I wouldn't have ditched Android for Windows Phone aha.
