There is a xap file, but what is a xaps file??

I downloaded a .xaps file, yes, not a .xap file, and yes, i can't deploy it on my dev unlocked lumia using app deployment 8.1. i'm sure because it's a .xaps file, so what is a .xaps file and how do i deploy it?

From where is it downloaded? From Windows store?

No, from that Chinese site/program installed on my PC. I used to b able to deploy and install apps from there itself. But now it's downloading xaps instead of xap and it's not installing anymore
