Thinking about a 640XL

(Way) better battery life, maybe longer update guarantee, two sim card slots besides the MicroSD's.

Only certain ones have dual sims. Those are the factory unlocked ones. Right now, they are $80 brand new (I think ATT branded - there are threads here).

The screen is not quite as sharp as an icon, the processor isn't as fast, and the camera is not in the same league. All that said, the 640XL isn't a bad phone.

Then I see no reason getting this knowing how it compares to my Icon.

I'd say the only thing the 640XL has over the Icon is the large screen and removable SD card. Outside of those two items, IMHO, the Icon is better in all other ways.

That said, they're only $80 right now, the try it out risk is pretty low.

Well,it looks like even though the deal's expired, one can still purchase the 640 XL at that price.
Still tempting.
