Windows Central Question

Thinking of switching from LG G2 to 950 xl but have a few questions if someone could help me with.

My current cell is a LG G2 (which has been a great phone) and I have been thinking of making the move to 950 xl. I currently use Windows 10 on my laptop and Surface Pro and thought switching to Windows on phone also to make them all more seamless. The main apps I currently use daily are available such as Waze, My Fitness Pal, Fitbit and of course MS Office Apps. There is a good replacement for the vehicle log app I use. Only thing really lacking is Pebble watch connection (could be deciding factor).

The questions I have pertain to the way the 950 xl functions as a phone compared to what I am used to as follows;

1) If there is an incoming call, does it auto answer when lifted to ear?
2) Does it have a notification light (showing missed calls or messages when screen is off)?
3) Can photos be taken without unlocking phone (straight from off)?

I am also a Office 365 user, can Outlook 365 (2013) be installed on the phone so all my contacts, appointments, to do's, and emails are in one place not separate apps.

Thanks in advance for any assistance,
Barry

1. There is an app called gesture beta which allows you to pick up call without pressing on screen keys.
2. Better, it has a glance screen that shows all these along with the light.
3. Yes you can take phot0s too, this by default in windows, you can have the turned off in settings.
4. Driving mode is there in windows 10 to allow you to use device on the go in a seamless manner
5. In addition to these you have Cortana allowing you to see miss call information on desktops/laptops and tablets, where you can send message directly without touching the phone.
6. Remember to update 950XL to .29 update at start to get a beautiful experience.

No, unfortunally the gestures beta app is not working on W10M, but that kind of gestures will be available with updates.

2) Does it have a notification light (showing missed calls or messages when screen is off)?

There is not notification light, but you can turn on glance, with notifications on lock screen.

3) Can photos be taken without unlocking phone (straight from off)?

Yes.

You can add your email account and contacts, emails and appointments will be added to Contats app, email app and calendar apps. To do's are not supported.
