All this is, is another tool that can be used for good or evil purposes. It's the human that determines that, not the technology.

For me, just a thing to make using technology less complicated, so I can focus on important things instead of figuring out which application or OS feature I have to beat into submission in order to get my work done today.

A medical professional will use it to control a probe inside the patient's body cutting out the cancerous tumor, an architect will use it to build a mock up of his latest project, lonely people *cough* perverts *cough* will have interactive porn, and a terrorist cell will practice beheading and blowing-stuff-up techniques. So it is with all tools, it's up to people to decide what to use them for.

When they try to pass the law requiring implantation of some device in every human's body for purposes of identification or commerce, be very wary.

I can't take Revelations seriously - for me, it reads as one awesome acid trip. But, yeah, the Mark is supposedly physical.

If we're getting technical, Revelations was most likely about the Roman Empire, and 666 = Nero, who was a notoriously huge jerk of a politician. Personally I see it as a cycle of the rise and fall of great civilizations, because it seems like we, as a species, keep making the same mistakes. We grow and prosper, we get accustomed to a life of easy civilization, we get full of ourselves, we turn into entitled creeps, and then we all kill each other before the whole process starts anew with whoever's left over. Many huge conflicts of the past were thought to be Armageddon, until things calmed down... You know what they say about those who don't remember history.

Anywho, there's obviously no connection, and most of us can agree. Requiring a special identification or "mark" to buy and sell would be more in line with big-brother practices, hive minds, and oppressive dictatorships (not that we're that far off right now) than having a head-computer as a convenience and entertainment.
