Throw 'em a bone or let 'em burn?

It dawned on me the other day while using Xbox Music on my W8.1 tablet that every change I've made using Groove on my W10 desktop synced perfectly to Xbox Music. My mail app syncs fine too. In fact, if I bookmark a web page on my Windows 10 desktop, it even syncs to Metro IE on Windows 8. If the programs still sync between Windows 8 and 10, should Microsoft go that extra mile and update their W8 apps to match W10? So replacing Xbox Music with Groove, Mail with Outlook, Xbox Movies with Movies & TV, etc etc.

I wouldn't expect much return from the effort of doing that at all considering 10 itself is offered.
