So,

I have a Lumia 1520 and the best feature is of course the gorgeous 6 inch 1080p screen. After MoliPlayer was released, I kept finding myself watching TV shows and films in the bed with earphones, while the wife sleeps. (side note: 1520 is so powerful that even high bitrate MKV files, I mean 1080p 25+Mbps, can be played flawlessly)

The only downside was the constant illuminated Windows buttons at the bottom of the screen, when the screen is on, and that means all lighted up while watching video. I have found a way maybe some other people are doing for a long time, but did not see it on the web: turning on the battery saver!

Not only it turns off Windows buttons' lights, but it also makes the screen go even dimmer compared to the dimmest/lowest brightness setting! I am also sure that this will apply to all WP devices, but I am not sure how the screen dimming would work for AMOLED devices as they may have a threshold.

I am extremely happy right now as I do not need to (try to) cover the side of the phone with my hand, as well as fiddling with the pseudo-brightness adjuster in MoliPlayer.

That's a great suggestion! I would also prefer those buttons to not light up when watching videos in a dark room

Laura, looks like it is just you and me, finding this tip useful!

Btw I was a Clevelander for almost 6 years, just until last November, maybe that is why haha!

This is very useful, I had noticed the lights going off sometimes and couldn't explain it until now. Thanks!

Thank you very much for the tip! I joined this site specifically to look for a solution to this issue. (My problem isn't so much with videos, however, but with Kindle books...)
