Titan does not have gorilla glass but substitute

HTC absolutely does mot use Gorilla Glass. Off the top of my head Motorola, HP and Samgsung use Gorilla Glass. You can verify this on the Corning site. They have a list of manufatureres that use their products and HTC was never on the list.

HTC is on the Corning site, or are you referring a different site:

CORNING? GORILLA? GLASS | HTC

Also says not all phones are listed on the corning site. I wonder if their is some coating like the olephobic coating on iPhones that is scratching, not the actual glass. Not that it matters what is scratching but the fact its getting scratched.

Check out MobieChick on Twitter. She confirmed with HTC that the Titan does have gorilla glass. I don't know her personally but her bio says she is att sponsored and she seems legit. She gives away phones a lot too!

@Bacchus1313 HTC has confirmed again that the device has gorilla glass

I emailed Corning and they said they couldnt comment and directed me to HTC. HTC gave me the same canned response as power5 got. If they were using Gorilla Glass I think they would say it so I now believe that the Titan does not use it.

I always find it strange how certain manufacturers are reticent about stating they have Gorrilla Glass on some of their devices; you would have thought they'd be shouting about it.

I wonder if there's some insane licensing reasoning. Sounds crazy, after all, why would a company ever limit exposure of a quality product? But that's the same reason Microsoft can't offer full turn-by-turn in Bing Maps and why Hulu pulled support from the HP TouchPad. Silly companies.

The Corning site says the Surround has Gorilla Glass. My Surround got scratched on day 1. I got a screen protector. I will now order a few for my new Titan.

I think you probably hit on it there. I am sure that comes into it.

Well since a lot of reviews said the Titan AND Radar had gorilla glass I decided to email their support about the Radar too. I will let you guys know when I hear back.

Also, on that site where corning lists devices with gorilla glass note the part where they say that some devices might actually have gorilla glass but they are not allowed to show them on the list due to agreements with the carriers or what have you.
