TMobile "3G" most of time.

I have Tmobile via StraightTalk. Every so often my DVP drops to Edge then I can check back in a short while its back on 3G. I have 5 bars almost all the time around home. It happen at my one work location too. The tower is on top of the building there and I have 5 bars there. Does Tmobile have issues with 3G every so often or is it my phone? I don't know of anyone with TMobile that I could ask.
