Hi guys. Just got an XV last week. I really like it. Had it for about a week now. I've just scratched the surface of everything I intend to use it for but so far I have to say I like its potential. I was wondering about Tomtom Navigator 6. I have the DVD for PalmOS and I was wondering if I can get Tomtom to send me the PocketPC version for free or a small fee. Has anyone done this? I mean switch from a PalmOS Treo with Tomtom and gotten them to switch you?

First of all... ....WELCOME TO WM EXPERTS!!!!!

This is a company by company policy. When I made the Palm to WM jump I contacted every software company I had Palm programs for and asked just what you are asking. Some gave me the WM version for free, most let me buy WM version at a GREATLY reduced price, and some said sorry...you got to buy it full price again (needless to say I did not deal with them any more).

email them and then let us know. I am doing a review on them right now and I would be interested in what they tell you.

My TT6 included both WM and Palm OS versions. (North America)
I use the WM and my wife the Palm OS.

OK, just got off the phone with Tomtom. He said that my Tomtom DVD came with installation files for PalmOS, Windows Mobile and Symbian. He said that I should be able to configure the software to use the internal GPS and that I should set it up for COM4 at 4800. According to him, those settings work on 90% of HTC devices. Also, I get two simultaneous licenses. So I can use this on my XV while my wife uses my old Bluetooth GPS on her TX. Similar to xdalaw. Nice guys by the way. I was very impressed with their tech support. I also got to them right away after navigating through the phone menu and selecting PDA navigation. The guy actually knew what he was talking about. Now all I have to do is find my DVD. : )
