My hubby is thinking on getting the L520 to replace the L800. The L800 was mine I upgraded to the L925. I have never drooled over a phone until I got my L925. Sorry I'm gibbering.

Anyway the 800 has started to play up, so he needs a new phone. We are in the UK and don't want another contracted phone. We are hoping the L520 will meet his needs.

My husband needs a phone but he does like some of the extras that comes with a smart phone. One of those extras is a torch. We are aware there is no flash with this phone but the torch app he uses states that on the l520 it is the screen that lights up.
Now I was wondering if anyone has used a torch app on the L520 and if it is any good, and does it use lots of battery?

Any information on this phone would be really helpful thanks in advance.

Another option, what i use for a flashlight on my 521 is a blank ie page. I have had to do it a couple times when power goes out.

Corepc thanks for that. I've just tried that with my phone and it seems ok. Hubby would need the app but I know it should work.
Thanks

You are welcome, turning the brightness' to high will make a difference has well. Never used the torch app but will check it out. the only problem with blank ie page is keeping the phone awake but just tapping the screen will do it.

A Torch/Flashlight App was something I thought that we owners of the Lumia 520 were unable to use as our devices lacked an LED flash. Thanks to this thread, I discovered that's not so as there are a bunch of apps that enable a White or Blank screen page on our L520's that provides a useable amount of light for emergency situations!

I tried five different apps incuding Torch Pro before settling on Flashlight XT. It's simple to use, has no Ads, and it's Free.

Same for me. I didn't even know.

Torch Pro is also free and has no adds...
