Touch Cover and Battery Life

Don't know if this is just me but having the Touch Cover (1) connected really impacts battery life. On standby with barely any use it only lasted 2-3 days max, without the cover connected it lasts considerably longer. Also, the Surface 2 completely refuses to charge if I plug in the power cable while the cover is connected, I have to disconnect and reconnect the cover to get it to charge.

I searched but can't seem to find out if this is a common problem. Anyone else experiencing anything similar?

Maybe its Microsoft's way of punishing the cheap skates who cover with the cover 1 over cover 2.

I've never done any "tests" but I don't think that leaving the cover on influences the standby-time. The loading issue definitely isn't normal. Mine charges just fine when the cover is attached (S2 with Type Cover 2 btw).

I have a touch cover 1 and it doesn't effect my battery life, and my surface 2 charges okay with it connected. Maybe something is wrong with your touch cover, or surface 2.
