Touch Pad Options resetting - Reverse Scroll

This is frustrating me like crazy. The Reverse Scroll option for the Touch Pad (Type Cover 2) appears to reset randomly. The only way to solve it is to unplug and replug in the cover itself - but why is this happening? I have the reverse scrolling direction switched to on. It seems to occur after leaving the device for a while. The setting doesn't change, so it'll still be toggled 'On', but the function itself won't be working until I disconnect and reconnect the cover.
