Touch Screen Stopped working

I had to get an RMA and send my Band out for repair today. The touch screen stopped working. Went to put it into sleep mode last night, and couldn't swipe to the right or left to select anything. Couldn't even power it off as it wants you to swipe to the right to select yes. Could only hold down both buttons for 20 seconds and do a soft reset. When it came back up, it wanted me to re-enter the date, but I still couldn't use the screen. Kind of a bummer. Will be without the band for 2 weeks or so.

Had been using it daily since I got it back in November. Used it for a workout, then was just laying on the conch until bed time last night.

Anybody else have their touch screen on their band stop working on them?

Not yet... but not looking forward to it. Hope you aren't without it for the whole 2 weeks...

No problems with the touch screen on either of mine.

Were you not able to get the advanced replacement?

I called support about corrosion of the skin sensor under the face and the offered me two day advance replacement.

Mine just quit tonight. Not looking forward to doing without. This thing is great! Really enjoy using it.

Update:

Took it off for one night and the next morning it was working fine, and has ever since.

I was doing a crossfit workout when it quit. Surely a little sweat wouldn't cause this behavior. Isn't the goal of the Band to get you to sweat more?

Anybody else had any similar troubles that could be tied to moisture?

Since my last post a little more than two weeks ago the Band has worked flawlessly. I bought some Skinomi screen protectors and chalked it up to an oddity. I do CrossFit three times per week and had not noticed the problem any more. That is until yesterday...

After the workout the band was unresponsive. Took it off when I got home and charged it. While charging the screen went nuts. I'll try to upload a picture. Anyway it seems like it's shot. I've never worn it in the shower, or accidentally submerged it in water. I'm just curious why nobody else has had a similar problem. I'm really hoping I just got one without proper waterproofing and sweat was the culprit.

Talked to Microsoft today they are sending a replacement. They were great about the whole deal. Very happy... As long as the other one lasts longer than 2 months. haha

I have same problem. How long time MS sent you back band?

Looks familiar. I sent it to them on the 11th of Feb. Got it back this past Friday the 20th.

I am a little disappointed. I purchased a brand new band on December 24th it went bad less than two months later and the replacement they sent me is a refurbished one. If I had done something to it myself I would say that is fine, but all I did was wear it for a workout. I thought that was what it was for.

I have not contacted them but I may next week. I think a new band would not have been too much to ask given the circumstances.

Almost anything that is replaced is with refurbished unless they haven't built up a stockpile yet. Every refurbished product I got or bought still didn't work.

Thanks for advise.
Now, I sent band back for my friend do claim Thailand to US.
I have more sweat when work out inside air cond. room. I think band have problem about moisture condense inside when switching weather from cold to hot. I found some water stains inside band before it died.

Have the same problem today after my run. I am staying in Singapore and have no friends in the States to help do the replacement. Any advise how to save the band without getting a replacement?

I have replaced my band twice and the last one just did the same thing. Will be going back for a another replacement. I really enjoy the watch. I don't seem to be doing anything wrong knowingly. If this next one doesn't work I may look at other options. Sad situation.

Mine did the same thing after a particularly sweaty bike ride. It worked fine after the ride but the next day it quit working. I'm sending mine back for warranty today.

I've had nothing but trouble with the Microsoft Band. For 2-3 weeks they work OK, than the trouble start. First time screen display issue with the most beautiful, but inappropriate, color. Sent in for repair. Second en third Band died of inability to charge the band. My fourth (and last) Band just went unresponsive on the touch screen.

I must say that the service is great. Sent the Band in for free, get it returned in about a week and a half. But it seems to me that the Microsoft Band is not a stable and certainly not a high quality product.

I'm currently on my 5th Microsoft Band. I love my band, but I've had the black lines on the screen and the unresponsive screens. I'm suspecting I'm going to have a problem again. Not looking forward to taking it back to the Microsoft store. I don't take showers with it, don't wash my hands with it. The only time it gets wet is when I'm running. I live in MN, so it's not the humidity.
