transferring contacts help

So I recently broke the screen on my Focus however the rest of the phone works. I went out and got an HTC One X but I cannot get my contacts onto my new phone. I tried looking in my windows live contacts but there is nothing there. My contacts have to be stored somewhere on the phone and is there any way to get to them from my computer. This is quite the emergency I have here and I hope someone can help.

So you had your Focus for how long? And all of the contacts you have on your Focus you manually added to the phone? So they were not synced via an email account or Facebook. And speaking of email, do you have a Hotmail or Live account that syncs with your phone?

Are you sure you are looking at the right Windows Live account? Hard to believe your contacts are not there. But if not, and you can't access the Focus, you have a problem.

Had the focus since November 2010. I think I added about 2/3via facebook 1/3 manually. I find it hard they did not sync somewhere. Most of the numbers from facebook are no longer there.

A few possibilities I see:

1. Your contacts are synced to a different email account you had attached. Go to the People hub → select a missing contact → look under their name to see what services are connected.
2. There was no linked service capable of syncing contacts on Windows Phone. Go to Settings → email+accounts → add a Hotmail or Gmail account. Not sure what else works, but those two are fine on my device.
3. You purposely switched off contacts sync for all your accounts. Go to Settings → email+accounts → your primary account → Content to synchronise → tick Contacts.
4. You're looking for information that's stored on Facebook. Windows Phone doesn't import Facebook numbers into contacts, it simply links them on the device. If you can't do something similar on the One X, tough luck - it's manual input from there on in.

Thanks for your help but unfortunately the screen on the Focus no longer works. I used both my live ID's that I have neither of them have my contacts. I find it hard to believe they're just saved in thin air. Could they possibly be saved on the internal storage on the Focus?
