Two questions on Touch Pro 2

I've had my touch pro 2 for three days and love it! But moving from an old "dumb phone" and a Dell Axim PDA, I have two questions about the newer Windows Mobile interface.
On my Axim, I liked to keep my name and phone number on my "today" page. I've tried to add my contact info on my tp2's today page and could not do it. Am I missing something, or is this no longer an option?
Also... I'd always plug in my Axim at night and use it as an alarm clock/night light. I just set the power usage to "never shut off" when it was on external power. It made a great bedside clock, and in the morning was always fully charged. On the TP2 the power usage no longer gives an "always on" option, so my TP2 shuts down after a half-hour, even when it's plugged in! (The alarm application still works, but it's pretty useless as a bedside clock.) Is there a way around this??? It seems like a pointless change in the windows mobile software.
If anyone has a way around these issues I'd appreciate your help!

Just a thought about the 'always on' feature when plugged in... does unchecking the box beside 'Turn off device if not used for' make a difference?

Coming from Windows Mobile 6.0 on my Treo 750, I was used to the 'Today' screen. As far as I understand it, TouchFLO 3D seems to have completely replaced the old WinMo Today screen, and made everything look sparkly.

I don't know of a solution, apart from maybe disabling TouchFLO...

You have to disable TouchFlo 3D in order to get your today screen back. TouchFlo3D covers the today screen like the one on your Dell. In my opinion though TouchFlo is much better looking.

There are check boxes in the power settings under turn off device and backlight on external power. Just uncheck those two boxes and problem solved!

Now that you have the power worked lets work on that today screen. What I like to do is use Touch Flow during the work week and at night and on the weekend I have a completely different setup. I use mToday to switch between my today screens. Based on your questions this might be useful to you I have attached the cab file for ya

I know where you are coming from. Here's what I recommend:
If you like and want to keep TouchFlo:
1. Press the windows flag button
2. Press the left soft button (all setting)
3. Find the owner info icon and start that
4. Enter the info you want on the screen then go to the options tab and check the box to show this at power on
5. Then find the power icon (under system) and uncheck the power off while on external power
6. See if you like this set up

If you want to go back to the old today screen and get rid of TouchFLO:
1. Do 1 through 4 above
2. Find the today icon
3. Go to the items
4. Uncheck TouchFLO
5. Check owner
6. Do 5 above
7. See if you like this set up

I love how flexible WinMo is in the regard (unlike iPhone)
