Two quick questions

Hey,

I just got the TP2 for verizon. I've never used a winmo phone before. I see a few threads on how to delete the incredibly annoying "sms sent" notification. However, I have no idea how to install a cab file or edit the registry (which scares me regardless). Do I just download the cab file on my phone and run it? Do any of them disable touchflo? I don't really want to change anything other than that one notification.

Also, where is a good place to find (free), decent apps specifically for touchscreen phones? Right now I'm trying to find an aim app, wouldn't mind it having msn/yahoo along with it. I've tried a few so far (aim's app, palingro, another I forgot). None of them worked well with the touch screen, were kind of clunky in operation and looked very dated. Are there any good ones out there?

You just copy the cabs over to your phone and run them via File Explorer.

So far I have installed:

4) Disable SMS-Sent Notifiation - Turns off bubble alerting that text message was sent successfully.
6) Enable All Camera Modes - Sport, Burst, Gps, etc.

So I juts run it and that's it? Reset the phone? I'm just worried I'm gonna run it and then my phone dies and never turns on again. Ahh, paranoia...

I just picked up the new ATT Pure with WM6.5 and TF3D 2.1. Any idea how I can update the TF3D to 2.5 (preferably 2.6)? I've searched all over and can't find a good method to do this. There is a CAB ROM for LEO but I can't imagine that would work on the Pure.

Chuckh....hop over to http://ppcgeeks.com and check there. I know they had a HSPL for the GSM TP2(*T-Mobile*), but I'm not sure if they have one for the Pure since it's new. But it won't hurt to check. I think the only way to get a custom rom on your device, is to have that HSPL for that phone first.

@ Vin5cent0 - You will not have to re run it each time...one the cab installs, its there.

@ zcarman - the enable all camera mode adds the sport mode, burst mode, and other HTC camera modes. Install it and see if you like it.

I was a little reluctant to mess with the phones registry. I have no problem with regular windows registry because if it breaks I know how to recover it but with the phone I was in the same boat. However it is easy to navigate (reminds me of file explorer). oh and when they say a value of "0" seen as everything is in 8 digit hex it's 8 "0"s so "00000000".

as for installing cabs it's like normal windows .exe installs you select it, it will ask you where you want to install it if you have the sd card. then run it. For the most part im running all but the essential stuff off my card. it runs fast enough with no lag. The other stuff like net framework i keep on the phone because it's more intergrated in the OS.
