Type cover 2 is not reponsive

I face this problem almost twice a day, where I open my surfarce2 and find that my keyboard is not working, as if its not there, the touch pad doesn't work, and the back light doesn't work also.

For now seems like - and I'm still not sure - but if I turn off the surface, then turn it on with the type cover 2 unattached, then attach it when fully booted, fixes the issue, temporarily, when I lock and unlock it doesn't always turn on.

Anyone had this issue, please help.

I get this occasionally on my Surface Pro 2, as well. For me, just detaching and reattaching the keyboard works. Hopefully someone else can suggest a fix that works permanently.
 
Could the contacts be getting dirty at the connection? Just a thought, might clean them see if it helps. Not sure what to use, alcohol and a Q-tip maybe?
Thought I recall someone doing this and it helped.
 
Mine is brand new and has this issue. Detaching the keyboard and reattaching fixes it, but it is definitely a problem.
 
This is very annoying, my manager is buying a surface pro 2 after my recommendation, now suddenly this started happening... I'm doomed.
