Type cover 2 on surface pro 3?

Was just wondering if anyone know if the type cover 2 for the surface pro 2 will work on the surface pro 3. I know it wouldn't fit well, but will it work? The connectors look about same. Might be nice to avoid the extra cost of buying another keyboard.
