Typing is fast with SP3 Type Cover

I believe the SP3 type cover is very comfortable for typing. It is even much better than a real keyboard of traditional laptop. I can type very fast.

And also the touch pad is one of the best I have used.

But people have the impression that the Type Cover is not as useful as a traditional laptop keyboard....

I've let several people try out the type cover on my SP3. Everyone comments at how nice it is, and they are really impressed with it.

The only complaint I have, is that the touchpad is to sensitive. Meaning that if I'm typing and I accidently touch the touchpad, my cursor jumps to a new location. I've changed the "taps delay" to long, but it still happens. I don't want to turn off the "taps" feature, because I like it, but I might have to.

I have exactly the same problem.
It happened quite often when I was typing in Excel... suddenly it jumps to another cell where the cursor was pointing to. I am quite sure that I did not touch the touchpad. Maybe I strike the keys too hard and somehow trigger the touchpad.

Is there a way to turn off the touchpad? I could do that with my laptop. I personally use a mouse and not the touchpad, as it annoys me when I type

Yes you can!

Install Surface Trackpad settings from Store.

Then in PC Settings app you now have option to either completely disable the trackpad or turn off when a mouse is connected. 😊

Thank you for pointing that out app out to us! It is fantastic, and even includes a setting to automatically turn off the touchpad when a mouse is connected (either USB or bluetooth) and then turn the touchpad back on if the mouse is not connected. Excellent!

How does one find these apps? What category should I be looking in to find other such great apps?

When I did that, it told me that the new trackpad was in the normal settings.

And I'm still confused?

The image tells me exactly what I just said. The app itself tells you to go into pc settings because it adds extra menus that were not there before. Just follow the directions listed in the image you posted and you will see what I mean. 😊

Here is what I mean :)

I'll try it again, maybe it was a glitch. It didn't show it last time. Maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall, let me go do that.

-does so-

That's what I'm getting, regardless of how often I uninstall and reinstall.

This app is only for the original Surface or Surface Pro, I believe. The setting you see are being added have actually been there since an update added them.

In your case blue1k, I believe it probably has something to do with Windows10. It is an early build, so you can't expect for everything to work right.

I believe it was me having the problem. :P

Also, it wasn't that I expected everything to work. I just didn't know this was an issue with 10.

I'm not using windows 10 . I'm on 8.1. That explains it. 😊
