Unable to Install Build 9860

I tried to install the build through PC Settings, and I got the message: "Failed to install the new preview build, please try again later. 0x80240016". I tried restarting and installing, shutting down and turning my PC back on and installing, but nothing's worked. Also I've got the most recent updates. How do I get the new build?

I get the exact same error.

You have to restart the update service and it should work fine

run following commands from an elevated command prompt

net stop wuauserv
net start wuauserv

i tired to do stop and then restart the services through above commands. but problem is still there.

I tried that, but it just gave me a different error after I clicked "Install now" (0x80070652)

I had the same problem. I reboot my computer and while it shut down an update installed and then when it powered back up the error message was gone and installed fine. I am not sure what that update was at the moment.

I had the same error. I just left the laptop alone and it wound up installing on its own!

I still can't get it to install

I have the same error when trying to update Windows Preview. 0xc1900200 turns into error 0x8024200D saying something about my OS system partition... I'm afraid to remove that and have to start all over.

If you have issues, you should go to Microsoft to fix them so they can actually fix the issues. Posting them here isn't as helpful.
