Windows Central Question

Hi, i recently added my CC info under my microsoft account to buy tweetium. as soon as i made the entry, i got an alert that 100 PKR (USD 1) had been deducted from my card by Billing Bill.MS.NET LU. i cant find this transaction under my purchase history so i assume its unauthorized. anyone else faced this issue and found a resolution? i've checked on google and it seems a lot of people have complained about this over the past year or so but there are no resolutions posted.

can someone raise this to Microsoft? maybe via this forum? thanks!

P.S i've removed my CC info from the account and wont be buying anything for a while from the windows store :P

Hi Thanks for clarifying, Laura . i called up their support already and while they didnt mention anything related to a test transaction (it should've been mentioned when i added my card) but they gave me a local support number to call for more details. will check with them i suppose. sorry for posting this here. the intent was to create some noise if this is actually a valid issue (saw quite a few complaints on this topic around the web since 2013 with no clear answers) but like you said, its more microsoft than windows phone.

I hope they get it sorted for you. I agree that the instructions should mention test transaction. I've never seen that since I use a verified PayPal account, which has all my bank and credit card information, so I just add new credit cards to my PayPal account, rather than to my Microsoft account.

I also have carrier billing available.

It was probably just the test-transaction that they do to check if it the CC is not a fraud. It will go away.

TheMightyCraken is very correct... Such tests are common and the pending amount is never collected. The hold on the funds is allowed to lapse and the money goes back into your account in about 72 hours. It is not just Microsoft store; all sorts of entities do this to ensure you are using a valid credit or debit card number. The test is known as a pre-authorization.

Here in the US, never go to a truck stop at the intersection of two major highways and swipe your card at the fuel pump... They will pre-auth your card for up to $500 USD.
