Yes. I have an unlocked lumia 1520 AT&T Varient. I was able to get a hold of a friend's tmobile sim card and I can confirm that I was able to make and receive calls, send and receive texts, browse the web with LTE, and etc.

You will get LTE alright on T-Mobile, but you won't get 3G. RM-940 doesn't have the band 4 on WCDMA. So, you will be dropping from LTE straight to 2G, of course, depending on your coverage. Only RM-938 has band 4 support on WCDMA.

^^ in addition to that, the AT&T variant does support HSPA+ in T-Mobile in places where T-Mobile has refarmed it's frequencies to 1900MHz, where it hasn't it'll only get 2G

Not quite correct. I have an RM-940 unlocked that I use on T-Mobile. You get LTE, 4G and then drop down to Edge. (4G is only HSPA+21 vice HSPA+42, assuming the towers have been refarmed. I believe T-Mo has said they are nearly done regarding too or will be done by the end of this year, so everyone should be covered.)

Do you have any link to support that? Because from my personal experience (and I'm RF person, so I pay attention on these things wherever I travel) they have not re-farmed much (OK, MO, IL, IN, OH)
