Unlocked phone--updates possible?

Hi, I'm hoping someone can advice. I have two accounts with o2( uk). Lumia 800 and lumia 925.
Lumia 800 contract finishes May this year. The 925 has 18 months.

I use 925 with the 800 sim and hubby has 800.

I won't be renewing 800 contract, but hubby will keep the phone with 925 sim.

I have unlock code for 925. ( got it from o2). I will be putting a Tesco sim in it( far better deal and no contract)

Now my question is will I be able to update the 925 as it will no longer be locked to o2.?
I'm thinking ahead to the 8.1 update.

Sorry this is long winded but I do hope someone can help. Oh and I do hope I've explained it clearly.

The phone will update in accordance to the O2 updating cycle. Unlocking just means it isn't locked to a specific carrier SIM. The phone hardware is 'locked' to O2.

So as long as O2 supports the phone you'll get updates.
