Could that be bluetoth 4 support? Since lumia 520 620 and 720 will get bt4 on amber update

I don't think so. I don't have anything on the phone that says it now BT4 support

4G LTE update perhaps?

Only suggest that as on Carphone Warehouse it says that some networks require an OTA update to enable LTE.

Good theory........yeah I've already gone ahead and flashed an EE firmware as was shocked to learn that 4g doesn't work on the unbranded roms. Now I've got my 4g but a bit worried that this might stop me receiving future firmares in good time unless I flash back to debrand.

Is a little bit of a quandary, but I'd suspect the reason is to do with carrier LTE frequencies, and rather than drain the battery by having 4G enabled and searching unused bands it was probably thought better to let the networks enable it as necessary.
