USB OTG support?

I'm new to Windows Phone and am still getting acclimated to all it has to offer (and doesn't offer) so bear with me here. I have a couple of questions-

1.) The 830 doesn't seem to have USB OTG support, is that correct? That would be a huge bummer because coming from Android, I am used to having OTG for quick file transfers.

2.) The Windows Phone desktop client for Mac only works on OSX 10.7 or higher and my MBP is still running 10.6.x. As it stands, there doesn't seem to be an easy way for me to transfer files directly from my computer to my phone. Are there any OSX users here that have figured out a way to transfer files directly from their computers? I can pull the SD card out and do it that way, or use OneDrive, but neither of those methods are ideal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't even know what to say about that. I also just got off the line with Windows Phone support and apparently there is no way to transfer files directly from my Mac to the phone. I really want to like this thing and Windows phone in general, but lack of OTG support is a pretty big step backwards, and the fact that I can't even do something as simple as transfer files directly between my phone and mac is a massive dealbreaker. As much as I love the hardware, I think this thing might have to go back. This is quite unfortunate :/

I wish I could help you on the file transfer thing, but I'm not a Mac user. I really wish you would give the device a chance though, using a Windows Phone after being a long time iPhone or Android user is quite refreshing, there's a lot to like here once you explore a little bit.

Have you by any chance tried this? https://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/how-to/wp8/music-and-videos/sync-with-my-mac?signin=true

Windows Phone uses MTP to connect to computers. I would plug in the device alone (I never use the Windows Phone app) and see if OS X picks up on it.

Well I can tell you one thing, I am definitely sold on Windows phone. You're absolutely right, coming from both iOS and Android it's definitely refreshing. I think it's easily the best looking of the bunch, and it is waaaay more customizable than I had original thought. I'm very non biased when it comes to mobile OSes, I just like cool tech no matter who makes it, and cool is a major understatement when it comes to Windows phone- I'm absolutely in love with it. But that said, the fact that I can't do something simple like transfer files from my mac or use OTG is a huge issue for me. I'm certainly not ready to give up on it just yet though. I have 2 weeks to try and find a workaround and I'm gonna use every bit of that 2 weeks to try and make it work for me.

I haven't tried that yet, I'll give it a look in a little bit. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: That app is the one I tried earlier. It is only compatible with OSX 10.7 or higher, and I'm on 10.6 so no dice.

I tried, it only sees it as a camera.
