You wouldn't need a file manager for some peripheral uses.
Being able to connect an Xbox controller would only require an app install (technically, drivers).
That's the biggest thing that I'm looking forward to (well, that and connecting thumbdrives).

Another big plus for Android over iOS and WP - I have a Patiot 64 GB memory stick ($25 on sale) that is about 1" long with a micro USB on one side and USB 3.0 on the other - great way to transfer large files to my phone (if I don't want to use AirDroid to sync wirelessly).
