After the update/name change yesterday from Nokia Camera to Lumia Camera and Nokia Camera Classic not being available for the 1020 it's getting a little unclear at this moment which camera app to use...

The main reason I use my 1020 is for taking a lot of photos. Untill now I used Nokia Camera Beta because I thought new improvements would arrive quicker at the Beta version instead of the 'normal' Nokia Camera. Now the 'normal' Nokia Camera is rebranded into Lumia Camera but the Beta version isn't.

Which camera app do you advise to use as the main camera app for the best results and possible improvement updates in the future? Should I stick with the Beta version or should I switch to Lumia Camera?

As of now the change is in name only so stick to what you have till there's some real change in the apps.

The start up time is shorter on the Beta app for me than the re branded Lumia Camera so I'm gonna stick with that until they update Lumia Camera (if they do..). I did get an email from Microsoft saying that the beta is over and advised me to unistall the beta app and that all the features from the beta are now in the Lumia Camera app, but that can't be true as it's still slower to load.

you're right, the Beta version is almost 2 times faster, approximately 2.5 sec loading time while Lumia Camera takes almost 5 sec to load...

(Running Nokia Camera Beta version 4.8.4.3 and Lumia Camera 4.9.1.2.)
