Using A AT&T 640 On Tmobile

I have a friend on a 640 she unlocked from att, she put her tmobile sim in and it works fine but when she's on a call she can't use her data

Is there some kind setting she needs to change in sim settings so she can use data while on calls?

I doubt it it's her first unlocked phone she just popped in her sim. How do you do that?

Have her follow these directions and put in these APN settings: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28065

She should also do the mms too, so that she can get (and send) MMS.

After saving it, turn the phone off and then back on.

Edit: She only needs to pay attention to the APN and data settings part, ignore the rest.

An unlocked ATT 640 does not use all the LTE bands that T-Mobile uses unless the phone is reflashed with the T-Mobile ROM. This may be affecting her phones behavior. Google "rebrand ATT L640" and you will get lots of information.

Be advised that you/she will have to roll back to 8.1 to do this.

Insider is your best bet. T-Mo has given up on that phone.
