using Adobe Acrobat XI standard

I'm using Adobe Acrobat XI standard and despite the fact this product is supposed to be Adobe's flagship, as soon as you add a text note to a pdf, it freezes up, you need to resave the document and then you can get the document to move up and down. I have not been able to figure out how to use the pen to write on an PDF document, etiher.

So if anyone has advice on how to do these things, that would be great. Failing that, does someone have a product/app for pdf viewing that allows 1) handwriting and typed text on document, 2) use of bookmarks on documents?

I use acrobat fine on 8.1 no problems.

Is your version of acrobat up to date?
Have you tried re-installing?
