Anyone have any luck using an unlocked one on AT&T? I've only had experience with the AT&T version which works fine, I just want to make sure before I order an unlocked one. Will I still get LTE?

As Ares said, to work in the US, you need the 1520.3, also known as the RM-938 variant of the 1520, or nicknamed the Unicorn version around here. If you are looking to buy new, B&H Photo ( B&H Photo Video Digital Cameras, Photography, Camcorders ) is usually the cheapest place around.

The RM-937 (which is cheaper) will work on ATT. You will get HSPA+ speeds. On Rogers in Canada (which uses same 2g and 3g+ as ATT) you can get LTE if you are in a major city with 2600MHz LTE band. Otherwise you still get decent speeds on HSPA. One piece of advice is to turn off 4g to limit the amount of scanning the radio will do for LTE when the 2600 band is not present. I am not sure if ATT has this band but it will work fine without LTE
