Using Outlook 2007 with Office 2010

My question, is there anyone using Office 2010(Excel, Powerpoint, Word) with Outlook 2007? I have been looking and I keep finding threads and articles about running Outlook 2007 and 2010 side by side. So I'm looking for somone running the config so I can find out if there are any issues. I have Office 2010 Home and Student which doesn't have Outlook. I use Outlook 2007 so that is not an issue if I can install Office 2010 and either keep Outlook 2007 or re-install it. I just need to know if there are any issues running the two different versions. Even though the applications are all different they do use shared resources etc.

That's a good question. I haven't ever tried it. I have Office Pro 2007 and 2010, but I uninstalled 2007 when I installed 2010, and now I also uninstalled 2010, since I got 2013. I've never tried running part of one version of Office alongside part of another version.

Good to see you in my thread lol. I haven't installed Office 2010 yet because I need Outlook. I just don't want to do it and end up with funny issues and instability when I install Outlook 2007 with the other 2010 components. It's looking like I might just have to bite the bullet and figure this out for anyone else in the future trying to do it.

It sounds like nobody else here has tried it, judging from the lack of response. Good luck if you do try it, and please let us know if it works.

It should work fine. I work in IT, and I've seen different versions of Office products installed more than once. In fact, you can install different versions of the same product side-by-side, and even use them simultaneously. If it doesn't work for you, it would be the first time I've heard of it not working. Try it!
