Verizon is pushing an update today!

NOKIA SOFTWARE RECOVERY TOOL is downloading to my Lumia Icon now. I believe it is downloading the already updated firmware, so I can skip the step of upgrading from Verizon and just re-upgrade to 8.1. Firmware download information from Nokia using Nokia Recovery Tool is:
Name: Nokia Lumia 929
Type: RM927
Software Version: 1028 3539 1402 1042
Sotware Version downloading 1028 3566 1417 0047
So it appears that I will get the Verizon Firmware update directly from Nokia when I downgrade to WP8.0 using the Nokia Software Recovery Tool.

that was my experience this evening. i guess it does the 8.0 reversion automatically when installing 1028.3455.1417.0047 (the new VZW firmware).
