Verizon Windows Phone with current Redstone build support

I'm still using an ancient Lumia 822 with Windows 10 Mobile 10586. It's not available for current Redstone insider builds and runs pretty slowly. I'd like to upgrade the phone, but I need to stay on Verizon as it's by far the best carrier around where I live. I was hoping for something relatively cheap as the future is unknown and should come out with some good new devices. All I can find that works with Verizon and Redstone builds is the Lumia 735. It seems decent as an upgrade over the 822. They are available on Ebay for around 120-130ish new/open box unlocked, which doesn't seem bad. Anyone know of other options besides the 735? My only gripe with it is that it's already a year and a half old.

I bought the 735 very recently and I'm on 10586.107 and it's working beautifully. I was on the fast ring for a bit and my phone went on the fritz so I went back to the Preview Release ring. Couldn't be happier.

@Marconis4 I've been contemplating picking up a 735 on eBay but I would like to run WM10 (perhaps v107 as you are), but I'm wondering how some of the general functions are working. In particular, how is the phone app, specifically when you go to answer a call and switch immediately to Speaker? With the 928 I was using before (with the last supported version of WM10), it was awful. I would often have to wait for the speaker phone to activate, or I would have to toggle the option on/off several times before speakerphone would work. It was very frustrating for such a basic feature to be so unstable. Does the 735 suffer this same issue? Also, do you get a lot of "resuming..." messages? For messaging I would sometimes have to wait up to almost a minute for the messaging app to restore (not always, but sometimes). It was awful, with these and other issues, it's no wonder the 928 is not being upgraded to WM10. I've been using a Galaxy S4 recently, but I'm eager to get back on WM10. The 735 is really my only option with Verizon. So, I was wondering if you've had any glaring issues, like the ones mentioned or others. Have you tried the latest Redstone build yet? Thanks!

I'll address each of your questions:

-I've never done this as I don't use speaker often. The only time is when I'm in the car, which actually is through Bluetooth so isn't speaker. Often times when I do use speaker, I'll be the one making the call.

-I do get a lot of resuming messages, but it only occurs if I open the message from my lock screen via the toast banner. It doesn't happen every time, but most notable when it's a media message.

-I did try the latest Redstone build when I was on the Fast Ring (can't recall the build, maybe the one prior to what was just released) and my phone was unusable although the first ten minutes I thought it was great. After that the thing crapped out.

Last night I updated my phone to the latest preview build (.242?) and it's still working great but battery drain is a little annoying. Overall, however, the phone is 100% usable and maybe 85% stable.

Hope this helps!

I was running Win 10 on a 928 and didn't experience any problems except the occasion "resuming" message. I broke the screen last week and replaced it with a 735 also running the current production version of 10 with no problems.

Thank you everyone. Well, I may just pick up a 735. If for no other reason I would like to keep tabs on the progress of WM10. With the latest builds of the OS, if you dismiss a notification from the lock screen, does the unread count on the respective tile update accordingly? If I do pick up a 735 I'm definitely going to update it to WM10 but I won't be using a backup. I'd like the install to be as clean as possible. Perhaps this is why my 928 had so many random issues. Well, part of the reason anyway.
