Vertical tiles? and People live tile not updating

So I've been seeing in screenshots on here that people have some tiles set to the 2x2 size and also 1x2(vertical) size. How is this done?

I've also noticed that my People tile doesn't change at all. I thought it was just part of the build but all the screenshots I've seen suggest otherwise. Any advice here?

Those tiles appeared in some previous insider builds, but haven't been included in the ones released lately. Bummer, I know. Hopefully they'll return.

If you hold the tiles to move, some will show an arrow to expand further, like virtual. It quickly goes to the next of three available sizes. Probably a little slow to respond or display error.

Has anyone got their people hub to work? I have tried everything and that's the only live tile that doesn't seem to work right.
