video podcasts

Is there any way to play video podcasts int he background so I just hear the audio and don't have to have my screen on and burn my battery? Also, with audio podcasts I can do other tasks (email, messaging, etc) but with video podcasts I can't leave the screen or even hit the lock-screen button.
