That's sort of how it works, yes. I've never actually used the feature except to stream Apple keynotes since I don't have an iPhone or Mac. I'm not sure if you can just copy/paste a link, but it does support that kind of stuff. It's more for live streaming than streaming itself.

Well, it would have it Apple didn't have one of the worst live streams I've ever seen, but yes, it worked. When it didn't work, it was Apple's fault, not VLC.

Well I will not yet that on my Lumia 520! Seems VLC have audio issues!!
