Hello all, I'm developer LaikaGlove. You may remember me from apps such as GrooveGrid, WiFi Monitor, and VoiceWake.

I've just released VoiceWake for Windows 10, which you can read about here.

VoiceWake allows you to wake up, shutdown, restart, hibernate, and sleep your PC using Cortana. In Windows 10, now you can also get detailed hardware information using the new "Get [computername] status" voice command. You can also access a real time detailed list of hardware statistics for your PC in the app, as well as view and even close processes running on your PC.

I'm eager to know what people think and I'd definitely appreciate some feedback. Are there any features you would like? Is there anything that needs clarifying in the setup process?

Thanks for the help!

Hi,
I have liked the idea, but cannot get the pc or phone to show online. I seem to have set up port forwarding as should be and tried different ports also, but it would not connect. devices show up, but no live connection. 950XL & W10 PC.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hello chippy,

Sorry for the late reply!

90% of the time, people seem to be accidentally using the old server app meant for the Windows Phone 8.1 version of VoiceWake. The Windows 10 version of VoiceWake has a brand new server app that functions completely differently from the old one. Please uninstall the server application from your PC and try the new one.

You can download it here:
VoiceWake.Server.Installer

Let me know if this works for you.

Hi,

Thanks, I uninstalled previous app from Store and tried this version. Since there is no longer an app for Windows just service, how do you configure it or does it set up automatically? Trial version expired and I can only send wake command from within Lite?

Thanks.

Hey Chippy, VoiceWake Lite is also from Windows Phone 8.1 (I just removed it from the windows 10 store to avoid confusion, sorry about that).

You can configure the VoiceWake server app from within the windows store app on your desktop. When you change the server port in the settings, the server port in the windows service will change as well. The default port is 4506 and it will be configured automatically.

If the trial expired, you'll have to purchase the app in the store in order to use it :( I'm sorry, I wish I could extend the trial for you.
