Vote! Do you own the M8 for Windows and does it reboot?

I'm on my second M8 and have reboots. So sporadic though it's hard to nail down, and never while I'm actually using the phone, just when it's sitting there idle.

Zero unplanned reboots and I've loaded every app I previously had installed on my Icon.

No reboots here. Not sure if it makes a difference or not, but as a matter of routine I've always rebooted all my phones every morning when I get up. This is after they've been on and charging all night long.

No reboots. 4 Days with HTC One (m8) on VZW.

Have not even heard of a reboot issue, so now a little curious.

There's thread about it here in this forum, but basically, it seems if you close the apps and do not run anything in the background, the phone reboots at random. If you just hit the windows key in an app and let it run in background, the phone is fine.

This just stinks, had one in my hand at the Verizon store today and was going to buy it. These reboot threads are why I am hesitant.

Is this a big issue and well known I work for verizon and would like to know if it's serious enough to "not sell" this m8 for the moment..

I had my phone since Aug 21 and had 0 reboots until Sept 18. phone was just sitting idol and started rebooting every hour. I went to Verizon store to get a different one and they would not do it cause I had it for over 14 days. Verizon's 14 day policy sucks. Anyway I think I figured it out on my own. 1st I turned off all apps that can run in the back ground EXCEPT Cortana and Calendars, I then left the Calendars app open in the background. If you leave an app open then the phone thinks your using it and doesn't reboot. This is only theory. I have now gone over 24 hours without a reboot. I think I will slowly start turning apps back on to run in the background to see if I can pin point which app is causing the rebooting. Also some say there phone gets hot when rebooting, mine never did.

I rarely reboot them at all and seem to work fine for me. I do think you should though, just not that often. I believe doing so too often wears out the battery and phone itself. Y'all welcomed to correct me if I'm wrong.

I have seen a few reboots. The most annoying one was day before yesterday, when I was in a call (customer care), waiting for someone to answer and the phone just rebooted. I had been waiting for a while and the phone rebooted while in a call.

Another month with my M8 still no spontaneous reboots. Not doing anything special just using it. Awesome device!

Been doing it this way for years, problems have always been minimal, never ruined a battery or had to replace one. Will continue to do what's been working for me. Lots of people turn their phones off at night. Isn't this in effect a reboot when they turn it back on?

I turn my phone off just about every night. That's when I first experienced the rebooting. I'd turn it off and then it would come back on. That's, pretty much, the only time it would reboot (ie. when I turned it off for the night). It hasn't for a few days, though, since I removed Bing Weather.
