W10 Preview on Icon (bypass Denim?)

I wonder if there is a way for MS to bypass carriers for firmware with the W10 preview? They didn't mention anything about this - but I have to think that in order to get 10, the firmware would need to change. Anyone have any thoughts?

The firmware is separate from the OS.

Im assuming if there are features in W10 that require firmware that Denim brings, those features simply wont work or work properly.

Dev Preview updates are just OS level, after all.

I doubt it, because that would exclude non-Lumia users (i.e Samsung ATIV and HTC M8). Remember, Amber, Black, Cyan, and Denim are for Lumia phones ONLY. WP8.1 and Win10 is for (almost) all windows devices.

I'm still using WP 8.1 Update DP on my Icon, I'm hoping that is the only way to bypass in order to try the W10 DP on the Icon

Well like gernerttl has mentioned many times, there is no way to ever bypass the Firmware. Ever. That is controlled by Verizon and Verizon alone. Sure we can get the WP 10 preview but still not have any of the goodies Denim will bring. My advice is to wait until Denim before upgrading to even newer pre release software.
