Greetings and salutations:
OS:
W11_x64 24H2 b:26100.3037 Enterprise LTSC-IoT (Registered to the company I work for).
Office:
MSOffice Pro+ 16.0.17932.20130 LTSC 2024 + VisioPro/ProjectPro/Skype for Business AiO (Registered to the company I work for).
Installing MSOffice Pro+ 16.0.17932.20130 LTSC 2024 + VisioPro/ProjectPro/Skype for Business AiO went like a dream:
Insert the stick my System Admin gave me, and it did all by itself, in no time, no issues at all.
Until ... the day after, I fired up Skype for Business for a business meeting with the company ... but it did not start at all:
"The program this shortcut is linked to, does not exist"???
Checking the location of Skype for Business ... indeed, the entire Skype directory was a goner.
I wanted to reinstall Business for Skype after Windows deleted it.
Trying to reinstall the skype, it resulted into:
"We're sorry, Microsoft Office installer encountered a problem because you have these Click-to-Run installer based Office programs installed on your computer."
Now, noteworthy:
I never installed ANY "Click to Run" installers, it was a registered ISO from my company with a preinstalled Command Line Executor.
So, wherever Windows got the idea, it was a "Click to Run" installer, is beyond me.
Is there a CMD command line, Powershell command line or mayhaps a reg key alteration that will remove this limitation?
Reason:
The installer is from my company, and I have not have the faintest idea, why Windows decided to simply remove the darned Skype.
Contacting Microsoft, their answer was:
"Uninstall MSOffice."
WOT?????
"I need the darn thing!!!, that's not a solution." I said.
They just hung up ... .
System Admin had the same result from Microsoft!
How about that???
So, I need my Skype, can someone please help me out here?
Thank you in advance:
Xog.
