Want to replace my 920, is there a big upgrade yet though?

So its about time to upgrade, my problem is that I dont think there is much of an upgrade available, I mean with 928,929 etc and these are all improvements but I see them more like when Apple add the S, not a huge change.

I was kind of waiting for something like a 930 to come out.

I want the same form factor which is why the 1020 or 1520 is not an option.

So any choices or just wait?

Same here; I got the 920 upon release but there hasn't been a suitable upgrade as of yet. I'm thinking they are waiting for Windows Phone 8.1 to be released so maybe in April or May there should be a good replacement for the 920.

Not to me. I also purchased the 920 immediately upon release, but so far have not seen anything which represents an evolutionary step which would compel me to get a new phone. I can certainly say that I will not be getting anything without microSD or at the minimum, double the storage on the 920.

My wife and my own contracts with AT&T are up in April, but if there isn't anything AMAZING, I'm not upgrading. This is because AT&T is now giving you a $15/mo discount once you are out of contract. That's $30/mo to keep our 920's.

After Build 2014 you are likely to see WP8.1 devices, so timing seems to be great for you.

I think it is best if you just wait... Nokia is having their press conference at MWC on the 24th... Rumours has it that they will announce the first WP 8.1 device, namely the 1820 (?) 1520V (?). I'm also up for an upgrade (currently using the 920). Have considered the 1520 due to the gigantic battery as the 1020 battery is kind of small for me. So, I'm also waiting for what surprises they have for us.

Cheers !

I think the 929/Icon looks like a solid upgrade from the 920 in a more "mainstream" form factor. It's the first jump to a 1080p screen, 20 MP camera, better processor, etc. It looks like it will release at kind of a strange time, though, with 8.1 seemingly right around the corner. I'd expect that a straight 8.1 out of the box phone (likely for AT&T in the US) is going to be announced in the coming weeks with similar components, but more optimized for any new features that may be present.

I would love a 929, unlocked and capable of running on T-Mo LTE:-)

I read some where that Verizon's phone are GSM unlocked. I could be wrong but its worth a look into. I will test my Verizon HTC 8X with my sisters ATT Sim to see if this is true.

I was thinking the same thing until I saw that it will not have microSD. That pretty much shot it down for me.

I'll wait for 929 or 930, think that is a good enough flr change from 920. And now nothing without sd card
