Hello Everybody

I am very much interested in switching to Windows Mobile phone from Android.
But i face some hurdles doing the same.

I am using Voice Speed Dial by Cyberon Corp.
We can store voice tags for each contact and just saying the tag will dial the contact.
I don't have any confidence in mobile phone's voice recognition.

Are there any such a application available for Windows Mobile 7x ?

One other application which is very important for me is something which allows me to completely manage my mobile phone from my Laptop.

Like, sending and receiving messages, dial phone numbers from the clipboard and viewing call logs etc all from my laptop.

Are there any such application available for Windows Mobile 7x ?

There is voice dialing on Windows Phones and voice response to SMS messaging. You manage your Windows Phone with Zune on your computer.

first of all it's windows phone 7, windows mobile 7 was scrapped by MS in late 2009 (when it was originally supposed to be released)

Windows phone has great voice control in that aspect, you can say dial or call "insert contact name" and it will immediately call them. You can also even have it read your text messages and respond to them all without having to touch.

There is a way to manage the content on WP from the PC, SkyDrive and Zune to begin but the management isn't that deep.

You might also find that alot of things you may need a separate app for in android are all built into WP (Facebook,Twitter, navigation, search, phone book, etc). You will also find that the performance is far superior to that of android,no lag,no FC,no freezes.

Well, it is Windows, and they are mobile phones, so technically that really isn't all that inaccurate.

Yeah, but you look uneducated if you called it Windows Mobile, when it's really called Windows Phone. It's like when people call the iPod Touch the iTouch, when there is no product with such a name.

Well, true - but since Windows Mobile was an actual brand name of the lines that Windows Phone replaced, calling it Windows Mobile really does equate to the WinMo 5.x and 6.x lines of the actual product called Windows Mobile. Hopefully that doesn't ever become a product name again ;).

Uneducated... that's a bit of an exaggeration. Some don't know that Microsoft changed it from Mobile to Phone.

We know what he means... a quick "it's not Windows Phone and not Windows Mobile" would be sufficient as well.

Please do not go off-topic guys.
I already tried voice dialing and it is not recognizing the names correctly.
Most of the names stored in contacts are not English names.
As i am not from an English speaking country.

That is why Voice Speed Dial excelled at, as it just uses my own voice to match the names instead of special algorithms.

Is there any voice training option in Windows Phone 7?

So, there is no apps to manage the phone from Laptop but only the media, am i right ?

I have not heard of any sort of desktop control like that.

Have not heard of any such voice control apps, with the included voice commands it probably leaves a relatively small market.

Why are you looking to switch to WP otherwise? You will probably be on Android for awhile unfortunately. Hopefully with Windows 8 arriving (on desktops/laptops/tablets/ARM tablets) along with Windows Phone 8 there will be more options that make this a possibility. Maybe the end of next year I would imagine the dev community should be hitting the new market pretty hard.

Good luck (and I do understand why someone would want to switch from Android to WP, I did ;)).

With voice dialling, have you tried assigning nicknames to contacts? Some nicknames might be interpreted more reliably. (e.g. First name: Anthony; Last name: Smith; Nickname: Tony... so saying "Call Tony" would call Anthony Smith.) I appreciate non-English names might be difficult, but if you select easily recognised nicknames you might get it to work.

I don't know of any application which does what you ask... but that's probably down to my own ignorance on a matter I've never had reason to look into.
