I understand with the release of GDR2 (and specifically Amber), a lot of fitness devices that were exclusive to iPhones and Androids will now be available for WP8 as well. However, with so much confusion around what?s what, I have a couple of doubts to clarify.
1. Once Amber and GDR2 are installed, all compatible WP8 devices (specifically the 920) will be Bluetooth Smart ready (What is Bluetooth 4.0? Bluetooth Smart and Smart Ready Explained). Therefore any Bluetooth smart compatible HRM should start working with WP8.
2. Apps such as Runtastic, Fitbit etc will (hopefully) be updated to work with fitness devices that are Bluetooth Smart compatible.
Is this a fair assumption? Does anyone know if Runtastic is working on updating its WP8 apps to support HRM and other Bluetooth smart hardware?
