So I was a victim of the recent developer preview infinite loop with my Samsung ATIV S. Was forced to flash back to WP8.. So now I've updated officially back up to WP8.1 Update and lo and behold Xbox Music now shows artist pic on lock screen... Well what-do-ya-know.. It still only applies when playing tracks streaming from Xbox Music service and not locally stored files... but still.... It actually works now.. This never worked before... Guess there's a silver lining in the mess.

You can use the instructions on the following thread to revert back to WP8 GDR3, it worked perfectly for me when my WP 8.1.1 update screwed up my phone. After doing this Cortana started to work is did work previously on WP 8.1.1

Which version of Ativ do you have? Is it the T899? Does the dev update bug affect only certain versions of this phone? I have read around the forums that some T899 users have latest dev preview firmware while others on i8750 have a bootloop. Is there a big difference with these two models? Thanks for any info in advance.

yes, there is a BIG difference between I8750 and T889... there are some hardware and software diff.
should you update? No, dont do it. Just wait for a newer update to roll out
