What is SunSpider benchmark and why is Windows Phone so bad at it?

Check the below link from Anandtech. Why is the Lumia 900 dead last!!?? Is it because IE9 on WP sucks so bad?

What is the real world implication of the SunSpider benchmark? Slow web browsing speeds?

Here's to hoping IE10 fixes whatever is wrong and does much better with Windows Phone 8.

Iirc, it does resolve the performance deficient in wp8. I don't remember where, but ms showed a presentation, and had numbers vs iOS 6 beta (beta 1 or 2, it was one of the earlier ones) running on the iPhone 4S.


Sunspider is a speed run of various JavaScript actions. The faster, the better.
